FROM THE CEO!

January has come  and gone, our numbers  surged  in the last week of January to make it our second highest total for a month, with  the Miami HUB winning with battle of the HUBS with Chicago second and New York a close third, good job to  everyone.    There are some interesting events  on the calendar  ,  and we can  continue to dominate the virtual skies, and show our colors in them, so keep it up.

I have recieved several comments from the Alaska ARTCC about our flights in there, hopefully we'll get the same response from  this months "Featured Destination".

Remember, February is CAT FREE   in recognition and appreciation for all that everyone has done to make this  the outstanding VA it is.

A little bit about callsigns, I urge you to read the AvA policy manual Article 8.03.    We would much rather have everyone flying and happy than to terminate for false pireps.

February's featured destination is  Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport, Santiago, Chile (SCEL).  As always, you may fly FROM/TO this airport from anywhere in any of the AVA (book a flight), or oneworld codeshare aircraft (as long as that aircraft is used on that flight on the timetable). Just make sure you put in your comments and edit your pirep comments to read AVA FEATURED FLIGHT. Note that the featured flight is a CAT FREE flight! If there is a destination that you would like featured, send your request to Rich Cole bod2@joinava.org

ATTENTION ALL CAT 5 and 6 PILOTS:

Beginning in Janurary, all CAT 5 and 6 pilots will be able to fly Codeshare aircraft to and from the FEATURED Destination of the month.   This includes using the "Book a Flight" feature.   So if you have been dying to fly the B744, or A380 to the featured destination, but there are no timetable flights for the Codeshare or OneWorld partners, now you will be able to.   Remember, this is for CAT 5 and 6 pilots only, CAT 3 and 4 pilots rules HAVE NOT changed.

If you are a flight simulator enthusiast who wants to take your flying to the next level, please take a look around our site. You will find that American Virtual Airlines is a Virtual Airline that is highly professional, extremely progressive, and whose members totally enjoy the hobby and each other. I invite you to become part of a great group of flight simmers who are proud to fly AMERICAN!

AVA partners with ZLA Pilot Certification Program!!!

AvA has opted to partner with the ZLA Pilot Certification Program to augment its existing training program.
AVA pilots will utilize the existing program, going through the same ratings as more than 100 other pilots have already undertaken.
Thanks to Gary Price for taking the initiative to make this happen.

More information can be found at the ZLA Pilot Certification Center
